EUGENE H. FLEISHMAN, CPA

PRINCIPAL

Gene joined GKG in January 2009, when the Poughkeepsie based firm he founded merged with the firm. He specializes in providing estate planning and taxation to individual and business clients, as well as law firms and other accounting firms. 

Gene graduated from the Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania, with a Bachelor's Degree in Economics.

Gene was the founder and first president of the Hudson Valley Estate Planning Council. He serves on the Estate Planning Committee and the Trust and Estate Administration Committee of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. He has also lectured and written many articles on estate and income tax topics.

In the community, Gene has served as president of the Board of Trustees of the Bardavon 1869 Opera House, and the City of Poughkeepsie Rotary Club. He has also served on the boards as president and/or officer of the Jewish Community Center of Dutchess County, Rabbi Erwin Zimet Hebrew Day School, and Jewish Federations of Dutchess County . Gene was the recipient of the 2007 Michael H. Urbach, CPA Community Builders Award, which is given annually by the New York State Society of CPA's for exemplary board leadership in charitable organizations.

Gene is married with five children, four grandchildren and a loving West Highland Terrier. Outside of work, his interests include table tennis, crossword puzzles and his family.
